Frequently Asked Questions
- Where are you located?
-
I live in and love the quaint town of Fuquay Varina, NC, which for those of you who are not from this area are wondering, is just southwest of Raleigh, NC. I’m always up for a change of scenery though, so definitely ask about travel!
- Do you travel?
-
Travel is my love language! As a destination wedding photographer, I will joyfully go wherever your love story takes us. From engagements on the Brooklyn bridge to weddings on the white sandy beaches of Barbados, photography is at the heart of some of my greatest adventures.
- How would you describe your style?
-
My photography style is bright and natural, with true-to-life colors and a soft, film-inspired aesthetic. I focus on creating timeless images that blend classic portraiture with genuine, prompted interactions, allowing for both beautifully posed and authentic, emotional moments. With expertise in lighting techniques, I ensure that even in challenging environments, my photos maintain a natural and flattering look without feeling overly artificial or ‘flashy.’ My goal is to create images that feel effortless, romantic, and true to the essence of your wedding day.
- What is required to book?
-
All weddings and portrait sessions required a signed contract and retainer in order to book and hold your date. The booking retainer is 25% of your wedding or session contract total.
- Do you shoot film or digital?
-
I shoot digital because it allows me to keep pace with the dynamic nature of a wedding day. With digital, I can quickly adjust to changing lighting conditions, capture fleeting moments without limitation, and ensure every image is properly exposed.
Advancements in digital technology offer incredible dynamic range, rich true-to-life colors, and a soft, film-like quality—without the delays and risks of film processing. While I love the timeless aesthetic of film, digital provides the reliability, flexibility, and efficiency needed to deliver beautifully crafted images with a quicker turnaround.
- How long have you been a photographer?
-
My journey with photography began in 2006, when I first fell in love with the art of storytelling in Journalism school. In 2008, I shifted my focus to portraiture, honing my ability to capture authentic emotion and timeless beauty. But it was in 2014 that I truly found my calling—wedding photography. Since then, I’ve had the joy of documenting hundreds of love stories, each one unique, filled with fleeting moments and heartfelt connections. Photography isn’t just what I do—it’s how I see the world, preserving memories with artistry, intention, and a deep appreciation for the beauty in every frame.
